Recipe: Asiago Cheese Sticks

Ingredients:
  • 2 cup cake flour
  • 1-1/3 cups semolina flour
  • 2 Tbs. baking powder
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 4 largeegg
  • 1 largeegg yolk\cooked
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup Asiago cheese, grated

Cooking Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Stir to mix well and set aside. Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl, until smooth and light. Add eggs and egg yolk, one at a time, beating and scraping the bowl constantly until smooth. Stir in reserved dry ingredients until incorporated. Add milk and buttermilk and mix to form a smooth batter. Fold in Asiago. Pour batter into greased cornstick molds (or prepared cake pan) and bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool briefly before turning out of pans and serving.
