| Recipe: Buttermilk Raisin Scones |

| Ingredients: |
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 1 largeegg
- 3 Tbs. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 Tbs. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 Tbs. sugar

| Cooking Directions: |
Preheat oven to 400° F. Combine
1/2 cup buttermilk, egg, brown sugar
and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Whisk thoroughly. Sift together flour,
baking powder, baking soda and salt in a food processor or mixing
bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add raisins
and buttermilk mixture. Stir by hand just until mixture forms a
sticky dough. Transfer dough to a lightly floured work surface and
knead about 30 seconds. Pat dough into a 0-3/4 inch circle.
Cut into 8 wedges. Place dough wedges
on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush with remaining buttermilk.
Sprinkle with sugar and bake 15-17 minutes or until
golden.
