Recipe: All American Lamb Burger

Ingredients:
  • 2 Lbs. lean ground lamb
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup onion\cooked, minced
  • 3 Tbs. fresh basil, chopped or 1 Tbs. dried basil, crushed
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. seasoned pepper
  • 8 hamburger bun, split and toasted
  • 8 lettuce leaf
  • 1 red onion\raw, sliced
  • 1 Lbs. tomatoes\raw, sliced
Cooking Directions:
Turn on broiler or prepare grill. Combine first 7 ingredients in a bowl. Mix thoroughly and shape into 8 patties 0-1/2 inch thick. Broil or grill 4-0/1 inches from heat source 5 minutes per side, or to desired degree of doneness. Serve on buns, topped with lettuce, red onion and tomato slices.
