This past weekend, we gratefully remembered and honored our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day. Also, many enjoyed the fresh taste of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and kicked off the summer picnic season.
To me, there’s nothing like the fresh-off the-grill flavor of grilled meats and veggies. But what about hot dogs? A typical hot dog contains about 150 calories and 15 grams of fat. So are there healthier choices? Comments (3) |

It really feels like spring in mountain Maryland! The daffodils are blooming and the robins are singing. And now is the time to buy fresh asparagus.
Asparagus is a member of the lily family and is as beautiful as it is delicious and nutritious. It has been referred to as the aristocrat of vegetables.
Asparagus, low in calories and fat, is a good source of folic acid, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Comments (11) |

Canned or frozen green beans were never big favorites of mine, so I would enjoy them in season and pass most other times. But now, I’m thrilled to enjoy convenient, fresh and delicious green beans all year round. GreenLine brand green beans are available for sale in the produce section of your local grocery store. They’re sold in convenient microwaveable bags and are fresh, trimmed and triple washed. Simply poke the bag with a fork, microwave about 4 minutes and you’ve got fabulous, delicious and tender fresh green beans. What could be easier?
