STOP MEDICARE CHANGES  Our dear friend and colleague, Wayne Stanfield, dropped by the Café late last night to urge us to ALERT ALL CAREGIVERS AND FAMILIES CURRENTLY USING OR WHO MAY SOON NEED IN-HOME MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FROM MEDICARE: "In 2008, thousands of Medicare recipients will receive their wheelchairs, oxygen, hospital beds and more, not from the local provider of their choice, but from suppliers who have agreed to accept the lowest prices for equipment and supplies." DIRE CONSEQUENCES  THESE CHANGES COULD HAVE DIRE UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES TO FAMILIES ACROSS OUR COUNTRY...  Comments (1)

A few of us were sitting in the Cafe last night bemoaning how hard it is to keep up with the cost of prescriptions for our loved ones. Tom, a colleague who is a  great pharmacist, reminded us about the Partnership for Prescription Assistance PPA. He said: "This week, The PPA is celebrating its 3rd anniversary of helping financially-struggling or uninsured people across America get access to the medicines they need for free or nearly free.
