Getting ready for Labor Day fun, some friends here at the Café were telling Jeff and I how much they look forward to getting emails from family and friends with fabulous photos attached. With a few simple clicks, they can share in the joy of happy times wherever they are, whenever they wish.

If you look it up in the dictionary, the definition of “disaster waiting to happen” should be: “self-medication by our loved ones.” 
Imagine my horror when my dad proudly announced to the doctor that he found a simpler way to take his morning, afternoon and evening pills for congestive heart failure. He simply took all of them at lunch time to be more efficient! Of course, we were having that conversation in the emergency room of the hospital… Comments (12) |

I pretty much dragged myself into the Café today, totally emotionally drained from another weekend of anguished watching and worrying: Worrying about my precious mother-in-law whose heart condition is growing ever worse as she grieves the excruciatingly slow loss of her husband/friend/lover of a lifetime…as he quietly slips away into unknown regions of Alzheimer’s disease, the one place she cannot follow him.
