STOP MEDICARE CHANGES  Our dear friend and colleague, Wayne Stanfield, dropped by the Café late last night to urge us to ALERT ALL CAREGIVERS AND FAMILIES CURRENTLY USING OR WHO MAY SOON NEED IN-HOME MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FROM MEDICARE: "In 2008, thousands of Medicare recipients will receive their wheelchairs, oxygen, hospital beds and more, not from the local provider of their choice, but from suppliers who have agreed to accept the lowest prices for equipment and supplies." There are some statements that simply are profoundly true. The following is such  a statement: “Mothers and Caregivers consistently give an amazing abundance of kindness and love with no thought of reward or reciprocity”. Long ago, an unknown author told the tale of just such a woman: “A caring woman was traveling in the mountains and found a precious stone in a  stream she crossed. The next day, she met another traveler who was hungry; so she opened her bag to share her food with him. THE PRECIOUS STONEThe hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the caring woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the caring woman....
