Are you an ice cream lover like me? Homemade ice cream is the “cream” of the crop for me. Old-fashioned creameries featuring homemade ice cream and frozen custard seem to call my name as I pass by.

While I was a college student, I was addicted to ice cream, which was available for hand-dipping in the cafeteria. I totally gave up the delectable dessert for a month in an effort to break the cycle of my addiction. It worked. My daily habit was gone. But my love for ice cream continued.

I learned an important lesson – you can break habits! I had learned in class that it takes 30 days to make or break a habit, so I gave it a try. It worked for me, thankfully. While I still love ice cream, I’ve learned to eat it in moderation, savoring every bite. At local creameries, I go for the single scoop or even children’s size, if possible. All the refreshment, without overdoing it! At the grocery store, I go for the low-fat varieties and the miniature options.

So, the new Skinny Cow Low Fat Fudge Pop Minis caught my eye. I hadn’t tried anything by Skinny Cow, but these minis looked inviting, containing only 50 calories per pop, 1 gram of fat and no trans fats. To my ice cream loving delight, I enjoyed these treats and so did the other ice cream lovers in my house. They’re cold and refreshing, creamy and chocolatey, and are just the cool treat I crave on a summer eve.

After visiting the skinny cow Web site, I learned that some of their other varieties, which are about 100 calories per serving, also contain a respectable 4 grams of fiber per serving. Has anyone tried these?

I most definitely share in your love for ice cream! I\'m learning to find ice cream alternatives. While I\'ve not had any of the Skinny Cow ice creams, Weight Watchers makes a couple different ice cream treats and the ones I\'ve had have all been delicious! They even have ice cream sandwiches which are probably my favorite so far. They have just 140 calories and 4 grams of fiber, so not too bad... a nice alternative.

Skinny Cow looks amazing but I haven't tried it yet. In the summer, I like to make frozen juice pops--it's not quite as delicious as ice cream, but it's cool and healthy.
