Page 1 of 2 I pretty much dragged myself into the Café today, totally emotionally drained from another weekend of anguished watching and worrying: Worrying about my precious mother-in-law whose heart condition is growing ever worse as she grieves the excruciatingly slow loss of her husband/friend/lover of a lifetime…as he quietly slips away into unknown regions of Alzheimer’s disease, the one place she cannot follow him.
And, as I sat staring into space, wishing I could be anywhere but where I am, I heard the kind words of Dr. Rudow, reminding me to call upon some “gentle imaginings” ... to take me far, far away. So I close my eyes, relax, and let my spirit lead me to the one place I always yearn to be: Walking along a quiet deserted beach; watching the waves lap lazily upon the shore; gazing at the distant blue horizon; warmed by the rising sun….allowing a gentle peace to infuse my heart and soul in this place where the earth reaches up to touch the sky; and the whisper of the wind calls to me: “Remember; Remember the Possibilities.” I hope you indulge yourself in your own gentle imaginings when you feel drained or overloaded. Go where your spirit leads so that, just for a little while, you may turn your overwhelming responsibilities into refreshing possibilities.
