Page 1 of 2 With all this beautiful summer weather, I've been running outside a lot. The cooler months are just around the corner, and I know I won't have the luxury of being able to exercise outside...so I'm taking advantage of it while I still have it.
As I've prepared to go for a run the past few times, I've found myself trying to gather the necessities I'll need (house key, ID, money for water) and becoming all too discombobulated in the process. There are always too many things I feel I must bring, and I never know how to carry it all. The end result is usually pretty pathetic. I resort to using the string of my workout pants to tie a tight knot around my money and ID, saying a silent prayer that they will still be there when I go to check for them later. And as far as my key goes, I forego even bringing it, and end up stashing it under the welcome mat, AGAIN saying a silent prayer that it will still be there upon my return. There has GOT to be a better way.
Well there is! It’s called a shoe pocket and as of today, I am the very proud owner of one. This perfect little gadget is just slightly larger than a credit card. It fastens onto the top of your sneaker with a little piece that slips through your laces. It connects in place with Velcro and conveniently holds your ID, credit card, cash, or house key. And the best part is, it’s so light that you can’t even tell it’s there. Plus, it costs less than 6 bucks! Ah, it’s the little things sometimes, isn’t it? I bought mine at a shop in town, and I’m sure you can find it at any sports store near you. But here’s the website for the one I picked up today: http://www.trisports.com/shoepocket.html. This is a serious must-have for runners…or just about anyone involved in outside sports. Enjoy!
