My good friend has been devoted to the practice of yoga for about two years now, and she recently called me with some exciting news. She has decided to begin a one-year training course to become a yoga teacher. I was ecstatic for her when she shared this news with me. I have always told her that yoga complements her. It calms her, relaxes her, almost levels her in a sense.
Right now, she will continue to work at her current job while doing her yoga training. But after she becomes certified, who knows? Perhaps she’ll be able to teach full time at a yoga studio, sharing with others the practice she truly loves. When you’ve gotten to a point in which you can’t tell where work ends and play begins, you have truly achieved something special. It looks like this dear friend of mine is headed in the right direction. I wish her all the luck and love as she pursues her dream. For now, I shall say Namaste. (Traditional greeting given at the end of each yoga practice: The divine in me salutes the divine in you.)
