At 65 years old, my husband and I decided to take a long car trip from our home in Michigan to Phoenix, Arizona. We had closed a business four months prior, so we had the time and inclination. On the RoadWe left Michigan on a Friday afternoon, passed quickly through Indiana (arriving in Indianapolis exactly at rush hour!), and drove into beautiful Kentucky, stopping outside of Louisville for the first night. The next morning we reached Nashville, Tennessee, our first sightseeing destination. Have you ever seen anything so stunning as the Gaylord Opryland Hotel? We entered the parking lot, and were immediately impressed by the size and scope of the gardens…both inside and out. Talk about impressive! Great Food; Great FunOur next stop was The District in Downtown Nashville; and as luck would have it, we were there at lunchtime. For a long time, my husband wanted me to see the famous WildHorse Saloon, a site that he had seen over the many years of his business travels. He told me that I would love it, and he was right....
Great ambiance, great food, and even a demonstration of country line dancing. We then proceeded to shop-hop through the many souvenir haunts for our grandchildren. (See, you never, ever really leave home!) Forever Elvis |

music plays and the ducks walk out of the fountain, along a red carpet to an elevator that takes them up to a rooftop pen for the night. At 6 a.m. the next day, the ducks are back in the fountain. While the ducks bed down at the Peabody, we stay at a Holiday Inn. Who do you think should be doing the quacking?
