My "Strays" Holiday Dinner                      

For many years, I've hosted what I call my "strays" holiday dinner. There are so many of us who have no family, are unable to travel, or don't want to impose on friends, therefore find themselves sitting at home alone on a holiday in a state of depression. I send out an email about three weeks in advance with the subject line "Calling All Strays." I've average eight people for every holiday dinner and it's always a fantastic day of getting to know new people, delightful conversation and good food. Wonder of Dance                                             

At Capabilities we are giving away tickets to White Christmas, a performance at  the Denver Center for Performing Arts, and introductory dance lessons at the local Fred Astaire Dance Studio. It’s a great feeling to give back to our customers, who are busily shopping and caring for others. Holiday Heartlight                                                                      

For the past 18  years, our extended family shines its Holiday Heartlight on a Head Start Center or a Family Shelter. We find out the ages of all the boys and girls there, then buy and wrap a special present for each of them to open on Christmas Day. This year, we delivered 176 presents with candy canes in time for a very holly, jolly holiday for some very special 3-5 year olds!!
