The holidays for me have always seemed to amplify the hubbub, noise, and hectic pace that most of us tend to experience all year long. Yet despite this external frenzy, I try (not always successfully) to find time for true pause and reflection on family, friends and the values I hold dearest in my heart.      

Throughout the years, my family and I have made it a point to share our holiday and traditions with others. In doing so I have come to recognize that whatever our faith and beliefs we really are more alike than different and cherish many of the same hopes. As I’ve gotten older this seems to resonate with me more and more....

Honor All Traditions

This year as I paused to celebrate Chanukah (The Jewish Festival of Lights) I decided to make it a point to learn a little more and grow a little more in honoring all faiths and traditions ....                                         

This week I attended my first (of what I hope will be the start of an annual) Interfaith Seasonal Service. The beauty of this time of year in whatever way we choose to honor it was readily apparent.

So in taking a moment to honor this season let me simply say:

Whether we are  Christian, Jew, Muslim or Hindu; whether we celebrate Christmas (Festival celebrating birth of Jesus Christ), Kwaanza (Festival honoring African heritage and values) or Bodhi Day( Day of Buddha's Enlightenment),

                                                                                    I wish us all Peace on  Earth; Happiness in our Hearts; 

                                         and Respect and Understanding towards One Another.
