This past week  Patty, one of our dearest Café friends, lost her mother whom she had taken care of with loving grace and quiet devotion for many years.                                                                                                                                   

In the predawn darkness, I thought about Patty and all the devoted family caregivers who face such sorrow; and silently praised them for a job well done….

Tribute to Caregivers

For each caregiver had chosen to live as “a friend to man” and there is no greater tribute we can offer them than the words of poet Sam Walter Foss:
